Well while sure, those could be a bonus. I'd say if you like shows on the lines of teen dramas/murder or dark mystery plots, and while not of much importance have a small bit of knowledge of the Archie series (what the show is very loosely based on) you should definitely give at least the first episode a go.
I was meaning to watch the series for a long time because Cole Sprouse is in it but when I finally did, after my friend was also starting to bug me about it, the first episode did hook me. Season 2 hasn't been as good as the 1st season (and also went a little off the rails a tad) I feel like, but it's still good and to be fair it's not over yet either.
