I'm not really sure why party affiliation would be relevant unless said crime is politically motivated. Besides, there are numerous factors which are causally linked to violent crime, and I have seen zero evidence that party affiliation is one of them (well, except for the fact that right wing terrorism is more common than left wing terrorism, but that is another point entirely).
