Now that 'Mario Kart Tour' has been revealed for mobile and for release by the end of March next year, 2019. There is very little chance in my opinion that Nintendo will bother making another fully fledged Mario Kart game for the Nintendo Switch considering it already has the ported Mario Kart 8. This makes your theory ALOT more believable as now there is a genuine reason Nintendo might want a Diddy Kong Racing game released for the Nintendo Switch, that coupled with the rumoured new Sonic & Sega Allstars racing game being produced by Sumo Digital should meant that the Nintendo Switch owners are satisfied.
