I don't recall Season 1 looking that nice to begin with, nor was it immune to fanservice...but eh, if that's a big deal for you I guess that's fair.

Personally I like the focus on comedy more than the overarching plot.  The first episode was basically the Seinfeld finale, and it was fantastic. The anime works best when it's being parody of the Isekai genre, so when it puts too much focus on actual plot it feels like it's becoming the very thing it's trying to mock. It reminds of how the One Punch Man manga has been until just recently.

Wasn't the slime guy connected the Demon King? I thought I recall it ending with another one of the big bad's main minions losing just like season 1. Pretty sure that mask dude was connected to him somehow, but I'm too lazy to check.
