If Nintendo got more consistent third party support, would the third party sell more than the first party?

There's about a 0% chance of that. Just look at the Wii U and the ridiculous attach rate of Mario Kart 8. How is any third party supposed to compete with that? Nintendo has a hugely dedicated fanbase that buys Nintendo consoles to mostly play Nintendo games, and I don't see that changing.
