I think it's a waste if the camera can't flip to the other side (i.e. facing away from the DS).  I certainly hope it has that capability like previous Nintendo/Game Boy cameras.  If it can do that and a future product will let you save and send the pictures to the Wii, then Nintendo is finally get the convergence thing right...
