"PS4 did it too" doesn't make it okay though. PS4 rightly caught a lot of flak (to which I contributed) for overloading on reheated ports in place of actual substantial new games early in its life. It would be hypocritical of me to give Nintendo a free pass for doing the same.

At this stage, we're looking at Kirby and Mario Tennis representing the only significant new games of Q1-2 for the Switch. Both look like fine games, but they're hardly system sellers, and ultimately 2 games in half a year just isn't enough. Granted, there is still time for them to announce a surprise heavy hitter for May/June, but if they don't, that's a very lackluster first semester.

OK, it is fair. I agree the PS4 was criticized for that too. My point basically was, that the PS4 sold well despite that, so I think the Switch will be OK. Nevertheless, in the first year the Switch also got some great non-ports (as Breath of the Wild released at the same time I consider it multiplat, not port, just like Persona 5). As a WiiU-owner who bought most of the games now getting ports I'm more or less fine with the lineup, although so far 2018 doesn't look like too much. Dark Souls and TWEWY though makes me happy.

2 significant new games for the first half of the year just doesn't sit well with me. Maybe they'll pull a rabbit out their hat and give us a June surprise, but if what they've shown so far is all they've got, it's a pretty weak lineup. I mean, in that same timeframe PS4 is getting Ni No Kuni 2, Far Cry 5, Monster Hunter World, Dynasty Warriors 9...
