Sony had the better marketing, price point and deals, Since E3 2013 Either way you look at it, you dont need exclusive games if you market your product better than your oppositions. PS4 has outsold X1 when they were down on games and X1 has outsold PS4 when they were down on games. Strange world we live in, isnt it. Hard truth is they both have games and the war on sales will continue to be on how they are presented.

Switch has the tinest library out if the big 3 and its the best selling.

I can't point out much more obviousness < word i made up.

And exclusives play a part in Sony's marketing, so they are not fully independent variables. Same thing applies with deals because Sony sometimes bundles exclusive games with the PS4.

You can have thousands of exclusive to a platform, if there not marketed right than they wont benefit the sales.

COD comes out on most platforms, the system that markets and advertises it the best makes the most sales.

Exclusives are just games. The X and Switch proved you dont need a bunch of games to sell hardware. Advertising and deals sell consoles.

Exclusives have and always will be the bragging rights that lead no where. There the cherry on top but not the base of the cake.

Because of its exclusives. What also helped both the Switch and the X-Box One X was being the newer kids on the block.  Other than that, it has always been about the games. Always.

Edit: I might as well add that the Switch is more expensive and comparatively underpowered to the Xbox One. And the switch outsold the Xbox One. But the original Xbox One being underpowered and more expensive than the PS4 was out sold by the PS4. So there's an inconsistency here. But what is consistent between the Switch and the PS4 are the........ Exclusives.

Lets not forget the Switch also caters to a much larger audience as its also the successor to the popular 3DS. The Xbox on paper has more exclusive games than the Switch at launch and probably still does yet the Switch is killing both Xbox and PS4 in sales.. so why is less selling more? Marketing, audience, deals, advertisements. Exclusives is just a bonus. Steam doesnt offer any new exclusive games, they thrive off multiplats yet its the leading gaming software on the marker (i am excluded all the trash, shovel ware and green light games which make up majority of Steams exclusives.)
