All hail the great critics. Their opinion is all that matters.

I disagree. They tend to give dramas or films that promote pc, critical acclaim while rarely giving any film from those genre a passing grade. These critics are no different than the guys behind the art or fashion scenes. They live within an echo chamber and they value their own opinions too much. They might as well live on another world with out of touch they are with the consumers on those products.

Have we forgotten that people wanted to shut down rotten tomatoes because they give bad DC films bad scores? Maybe the general audiences value the opinions of critics too much.

The rest is kinda nonsense. Lots of movies in other genres have gotten positive reviews. Just because the critics disliked Texas Chainsaw 3D doesn't mean The Witch, The Conjuring 2, Lights Out, Don't Breathe, It Follows, It Comes at Night, Annabelle Creation, The Shallows, and Ouija Origin of Evil didn't get high praise. All horror movies from the past 2 years. Just because a movie gets good reviews doesn't mean it's a good movie and just because a movie gets bad reviews doesn't mean it's a bad movie, but there's no great conspiracy here.

I think that's more of a case of people that don't  like seeing negative opinions of something they like.

I wasn't suggesting that there's a conspiracy or anything but that there's a group of who don't break off from what others say in their group. Human nature.
