I actually don't think Disney buys critics.
The Marvel films ARE solid for what they are trying to be. Guardians 2, Dr. Strange are legit good films for what they are trying to be. So are Force Awakens and Last Jedi.
Movie critics are not nerds. They don't give a shit if Thanos has the right back story or any of that stuff. They don't care about Snoke's back story.
You have to be invested in these franchises to a hardcore degree to really care about the decision making in them that doesn't go the way you want.
