People just need to fucking relax with Star Wars.

You're never getting the Original Trilogy again. That was lightning in a bottle, something that happens once in a life time. You're never going to be 9 years old again. Accept it and move on.

The only thing the sequel trilogy does is lift Star Wars from the laughably awful wooden prequels to a level that's comparable/better than modern blockbuster movies like the Marvel films, Harry Potter, etc. It's better than the Hobbit films.

And that's all you're going to get. You're not going to get something that reaffirms your childhood, you're a grown up. Get over it. If you're going to nit pick everything to death you're never going to enjoy anything. Also Empire had a large drop from A New Hope, AOTC also had a huge drop from Phantom Menace.

ANH was five damn years on wide release, it's not comparable to anything nowadays except maybe Avatar and even that movie was a pale echo of earlier, long lived blockbusters. The first two prrqurls actually dropped because of their low quality which instead is much more like we are seeing with the sequels. Even then I place the prequels above since at least they were made by Lucas instead of being Disney fanfiction, and really, even Jar Jar poop jokes are not worse than "general Huggs, I have a message from your mother hehe :D".

And stop telling how people should do or enjoy things because a paradigm of truth and wisdom you are obviously not. Not to mention people bought and paid for it, so they are well within their reasonable right of not being satistied with what they got.

I'm saying Star Wars fans need to fucking relax. Every movie now for the last SIX damn movies has generated controversey because it isn't what some portion of the fanbase wanted.

You're never going to be happy. In part the expectation is that Star Wars will take these fans back into their childhood. It's not fucking happening. Grow up and get over it.

You're getting Star Wars movies of the same basic tier/quality of the Marvel films. Stop expecting some kind of religious experience in the movie theater. It's never going to happen. If you want to nit pick Thor Ragnarok and Dr. Strange in the same way you can rip those apart too. It's just a movie, and at this point it's the fucking EIGHTH ONE. By the 8th Rocky or 8th Jaws or 8th Harry Potter of 8th anything, things start to get a bit redundant.

It's never going to be 1977 or 1980 or 1983 again, and the magic the originals had will never be duplicated, that's one of those runs that happens once in a life time. Accept what you get now is a modern Hollywood blockbuster on par with the Marvel stuff in a Star Wars wrapper.
