and i showed where falling off a cliff could mean anything. yet were back at it again?

No, words & phrases cant just "mean anything", they have actual definitions.

You linked a couple articles that used the phrase when describing a sudden drop in stock value.

A companies stock dropping ~8% over the course of a few hours can be considered falling off a cliff.

A piece of hardware dropping ~5% from one year to the next is not falling off a cliff.

Those two things are not comparable.

it's all context. I traded stock, and 4-8% is not falling off a cliff to me. switch according to many people is selling as well as ps4 at the moment. many people think switch doing 60 million means it's sales will fall off a cliff to them.
