I can see where you're coming from, but while it was disappointing I still thought it was good with some stellar moments. The kamikaze crash and Luke force projection were higlights for me, but I didn't like the Pong or caretakers. I get why they used the puppet Yoda but (I recognise I'll probably be in the minority here) I preferred the CGI model.

Also the casino mission was jarring. Rose was a pointless exposition character who didnt need to be there. Finn, having been a main character in VII was little more than a supporting character here. The film should have the guts to allow him to die in the final battle, but chickened out in a really forced way capped off with Rose's naive hero attempt (she also should have died there but her plot armour was too strong). Reflecting on that, it just feels weighed down by needing to focus on too many characters (Rey, Kylo Ren, Luke, Poe, the Vice Admiral, Finn, Rose - all roughly in order of importance). Considering that, no wonder there was no backstory for Snoke.

Rose had to be WORST character in franchise history, I dare say even worse than Jar Jar Binks (at least he could produce a few laughs). Did we seriously need a chubby love interest, with a stupidly snobby backstory, for Fin? When I realized she was going to be present for more than 5 minutes, all I could think was “Why?!?!?!”...
