I actually hated it when it suddenly change but I kinda like it now. I wish they could have provided us 1 season about the elite 10 (maybe S4), since I was really excited on who they are, but their introduction sucked.

But where is this plot even going? It's going to end up in a Shokugeki of Souma vs bad guy. But I don't see the point here. Is that really more exciting than Souma climbing up the ladder? It feels like absolute filler because I am going to predict that once this issue is resolved everything is just going to be back exactly where we were in season 2.

Also the bad guy fails completely on all levels. He's not threatening, annoying, charismatic or even just crazy or evil. He's just some dude. Everything with that guy in it feels like filler.
