I ... don't remember voting in that poll but it says I did.  Interesting.

Anyway, if I had to list my very favorite anime for the year, it would probably look something like this (no order):

Gabriel DropOut
Kemono Friends
Made in Abyss
Aho Girl
Mahoujin Guruguru
Tsurezure Children
Houseki no Kuni
Net-juu no Susume
Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou
Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon
Demi-chan wa Kataritai

That's leaving off some that I liked quite a bit but I don't think were as high quality, unique, and/or as meaningful.

If I had to list the anime that I thought were simply the best of the best, it would fall between Houseki no Kuni and Made in Abyss.  I think those two had something special that set them apart.  By the way, the manga for both is fantastic.

I don't really see the need to single out just one of them.  However, for the sake of the nomination thing, I'll go with Made in Abyss (I know Houseki no Kuni will be nominated by someone else).

Co-AotY -- Made in Abyss / Houseki no Kuni

Songs of the Year (non ED/OP) --

Characters of the Year:

Best Voice work --

Inori Minase - Chito in Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou

Tomoyo Kurosawa - Phos in Houseki no Kuni

Aoi Yūki - Yoshiko in Aho-Girl

Special Award For Being Awesome -- Kemono Friends:  A low-budget tie-in for a dead mobile game that was supposed to fade away quietly but instead went on to take Japan by storm.  Despite being made by a tiny production team, it had more heart and individuality than almost anything else.  It was unique, had fantastic voice direction, inventive character designs and, above all, was just a lot of fun to watch.
