PS4 was only available home console last year (Switch is also home console in same time), Wii U was dying and in huge decline, so effectively PS4 was only home console on market. Of Course that most people are buying only one gaming device per year, actually good number of them buying just one gaming devaice per generation.
Of Course that some part of 3DS owners want to upgrade to Switch even Switch is much more expensive than 3DS and majority of 3DS sales were when 3DS was around $150>. But I dont talking about those users or Nintendo fans, you have new users, ex Vita, PS3, Wii U...point that you want to made that just Nintendo fans are buying Switch is totaly wrong.
Switch definitely started affecting on PS4 sales, and that will be most obvious during holiday season because huge Switch popularity and because fact that Nintendo consoles always have better holiday seasons compared to Sony consoles (of course that most people buying one console during holiday season). Again, I explained to you that point that 1st party games are most popular on Switch doesnt mean that they are selling just to Nintendo fans. We already seeing plenty of people that saying that Switch is their first Nintendo console in long time (in couple of generations) or even first Nintendo console ever.

Also, do you think Japanese gamers will buy because Switch is a home console? You should know that it is handheld as well which we both know is very huge in Japan. That is not the selling point of Switch. This is what I hate about this topic. Some of you uses the handheld and Home console when it's convenient for your argument.

Paragraph 4. Thank you for proving my point. Historically speaking and according to you a fact which we both agree. Nintendo console tends to sell better in the holidays as opposed to Sony cconsole. 2016 for the PS4 is an anomaly because it had a great line-up when it entered the holiday season. PS4 tends to be weaker on the holiday because of their weak line-up. So again thank you for proving my point. I appreciate it.
Also about your other argument please show me the receipt that it is their first Nintendo Console.
