The long cutscenes are actually what I loved most about Xenosaga. It was like a TV series, except I could move around, talk to and kill various people in it. It was great! There was a lot of stuff in the Xenoblade games I liked a lot more than Xenosaga. So I hope Xenoblade 2 brings that all together.
I don’t know the score, and frankly I don’t care. Monolithsoft games have a history of being underrated. Even by me, and I love them. Something about Xeno-games always attracts the most nit picky responses from reviews, it’s often judged to much harsher standards than other games. Only the original Xenoblade Chronicles somewhat avoided it. Xenogears got criticized for some of the same details Famitsu praised in DQ7.
