Unfortunately, no, there is no National Dex. This is a glaring issue in this Gen and I hope it remains in this Gen only because it's absolutely lazy not to have it in. The game itself, for me is a 7/10 if you already played S/M since the game is still very familiar. It's a 8.5/10 if you never played S/M prior And overall I'd say it's a solid 7/10 as a Pokemon game. Its lack of a National Dex, still having lag (better than in X/Y and S/M though), and annoyingly long tutorial (basically the first island) hurts it. |
Pokemon Bank (which got updated recently and now works with USUM) is pretty much the National Dex now. Can someone explain to me the big deal about missing an in-game National Dex, outside of not being able to read dex entries? Not saying that it shouldn't be present; I just want to make sure I'm not missing something crucial.
I just beat the first Island Kahuna, and I'm enjoying the main game a lot more than I thought I would. I skipped S/M and spent a year hearing about the silly story, nonstop cutscenes and Hau, so now that I'm actually playing it, I find that the negative hype isn't nearly as bad. Granted, I'm sure some of this was addressed with Ultra.
