| spurgeonryan said: Here is the good news. This is a huge holiday week and Justice League will me another 90 to 120 million by next Monday morning domestic. My prediction. Coco is the only big movie out until December 15th! That's right, Star Wars 20 or 30 or whichever it is comes out that day. Nothing else will really compete for the same audience until then. WoM is higher than BvS. Whether you liked the film or not you cannot deny it's Cinema score which is a B+. When the final Tally comes in a few months WB may just not fire horrible Zack Snyder like most think. Still probably will, but at least the end total will surprise some. |
Considering this had a lower than expected opening, next weekend is probably going to see a drop larger than 60%, which is actually the norm for DC films. But, let's say it's only 60%, which would be ~$40M for the weekend. Highly doubt it'll make $50M-$80M between now and Friday. And considering this movie cost $300M to make, it'll need to hit $600M WW to break even. That doesn't even include the huge marketing budget for this film. That probably takes it to $800M to break even. BO Mojo is predicting it will be in line with other DC movies and only have a ~2x multiplier for the rest of its run, which means only ~$200M-$220M domestic when its run is over. That means the rest of the world needs to make ~$580M-$600M, which is more than any other DC movie. I highly doubt that will happen. Especially since BvS is the DC movie that made the most in the rest of the world, and that opened ~$70M higher than JL. This movie is just stumbling on almost all accounts.
