Is there the slightest possibility that the reviewer honestly thought ARMS is a 9/10 game?

They aren't mainline games though, they're spinoffs, and terrible ones at that. There's a big difference between a game like Ultra Sun and Amiibo Festival.

Fact is, when it comes down to it, every big Nintendo release gets top marks from Nintendo Life, and it's mainly due to bias.

This is pure spin at its finest. You're essentially saying Nintendo sends games that aren't "mainline" out to die as shovelware and it doesn't care about the quality, time and budget of these games and the reputation of having its name attached to them.

So basically, what you're saying is that... for tentpole, flagship games, Nintendo goes ball to the wall and makes sure to deliver a masterpiece that consumers and reviewers are sure to love... nah, that's just crazy talk. Nintendo publishes piles of shit and pays off unofficial sites with "Nintendo" in the name for great review scores, because that's a much better idea than putting out great games that can speak for themselves.

By your logic, MK8D, Mario + Rabbids and Ultra Sun and Moon should be considered spinoff games as well. So in actuality, the only games that NintendoLife have awarded perfect scores are Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, Samus Returns, Odyssey and Axiom Verge, the last of which is a third party game. Keeping in mind that a perfect score does not suggest that the reviewer is at all saying the game is perfect; that is a killer lineup of games that you'd be hard pressed to find five equivalents on another console released in the same period.

Oh, and I just took a look at your profile. This is all about bias, right? Well let's see:

Currently playing: Yakuza 2 (PS2) as of Oct. 24, 2017

Favorite games: 11 PS3 games

I get the sneaking suspicion that you haven't played a single one of the games awarded 10/10 by NL. Sorry RJTM1991, but I really don't think you have a right to call someone out on bias.
