It sucks having to wait till post game content just to have any amount of challenge and sucks being treated to almost nothing after.  The seller might as well just hand us a disc with the movie sequences and a couple of trophies instead of a game, because most of these games rarely feel like a game anymore.  Walking over a few steps to a hill and jumping to get a moon is not a game and should not be in a "game." I'm not dogging Odyssey completely, but just some design decisions that cater more and more to the casual crowd.  Banjo Tooie, Mario 64, Sunshine, and more were much harder than Odyssey just to get through the main story quest.  Odyssey is a lot better though than 3D World and thematically/stylistically is wonderful.  The balance of odyssey is nice too and it is fun at times. but still.  geez.  Where are my games at?  Sorry /endsoapbox

Really? I've beaten M64, Sunshine and Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie the last year and I think they're pretty similar to Odyssey. Have you played them recently? Because, yep, it really took me more time as a child, but now that I have a solid background in platforming gaming, it's normal that Odyssey comes as a easier experience.

I'll admit I haven't played Tooie or Kazooie since I had a tube tv due to the N64 graphics, but I do remember them being a bit more involved and more difficult.  Yes, it could be some age difference, but I even beat those games several times.  M64 I played some in the DS remake and there really are some difficult stars to get, but I think the camera and the unforgiving jumping mechanic had a lot to do with the difficulty.  Likewise Sunshine had a difficult camera to get used to but once you did, I thought it was a lot of fun and again the shines were much more involved.  I did get every blue coin and shine in that game without a guide.  Since I seem so bothered by it, it might actually be a fun activity for me to go back and revisit these games to do a thorough analysis and write-up on the topic.  Would be nice to revisit that era.
