It is; Odyssey looks significantly better than 3D World, particularly its lighting.

Amen. It's amazing how well that game has aged, given it was technically dated even when it released a decade ago. Still looks great.

A dunno if I'd call any of the cuts surprising; it's pretty standard stuff, a lot of the same tradeoffs used not only by other first party Switch games but also titles from other companies like Halo 5 or Destiny 2.
