Yeah, I also thought about getting a new router... but the Ethernet adapter was much cheaper and there would still be two walls between the new router and my living room... and we are talking about sold brick walls, not the thin drywalls like in many american houses. ;)

That was the problem in my house too. The walls are brick walls from the old farmhouse (with a plaster layer on it).
