I know they announced it...   ...but then, there has been NOTHING ever since. Not a peep, a date - nada. I hope you're right, though as I will continue waiting for it... :)

 

It was the same thing for the Wii U version for the longest time

They're waiting because they will be releasing Minecraft physically when the Better Together update hits Switch, so that way the Minecraft packaging doesn't have "Switch version" on it. It'll just say Minecraft. It's what they're doing with the Xbox versions starting November 7th I believe.
