The switch indie train will last for quite some time. Eventually, it'll be seen as normal due to people preferring to get these games on the go.

Indie games and Nintendo games have something in common: They're different in some ways (some more, some less) to what the mainstream games offer. In this, it's just normal that they thrive on a Nintendo platform, as apart from a few multiplats the whole experience is (trimmed to in some respect) different from the mainstream.

Since the days of the WiiWare I thought Indies & Nintendo are a perfect combination due to this. And it seems like I was right. While The Wii U in itself flopped, the fact that there where basically no multiplat titles aside from Skylanders, Just dance and Lego meant that Indies had much more spotlight and quite often Wii U versions of Indie games outsold the Versions on other consoles due to this. With Nintendo continuing their Nindies Programm they ensure that that spotlight will never vanish completly, and with the reasons told above indies should have a bright future on the console.
