Besides, reporting I was referring to the collective demonisation of white men, not the media simply mentioning that he was white. There's nothing really wrong with that. Unnecessary, but not worth getting excited over.

Maybe because you're white you notice white more often. Because I would say the majority of these kinds of reports are for black people or latino. Of course I only have MSNBC, Fox, CNN, and local channels to go by since thats whats on at my job 90% of the time. So I see news most days for hours on end XD white people don't really show up too often. And when they do it's mostly for child abuse. 

Should they mention the skin color? No. Cause anyone with eyes can figure out what someone is. And blind people (except for the recently blind) would have no concept of color, at least in the same sense as sight seeing individuals. I agree it is needless. I think you can thank reporters who want to report every detail because they don't have access to the full police record 

It shouldn't happen for any racial groups. And when people to it to blacks and latinos they get in huge trouble.
