The 3DS actually outsold the PS4 in its first year. And the Switch is outselling the 3DS by quite a large margin.
It depends on the stock, but if let's say the Switch follows a sales curve similar to the 3DS (which it should), it would end up above PS4 quite easily (reminder: Switch hasn't had a holiday yet). But Nintendo probably won't ship that many.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
