I heard it on Spawn Wave's live stream. He's able to get the distributor cost of items. The distributor cost of the SNES Classic was $77, he was remarking that with shipping retailers don't make money SNES Classic, they just stock becuase it will get people into their stores. It gives them a chance to sell them something else.

Just because retailers aren't getting a large cut doesn't mean anything. Generally retailers don't make much of anything off game hardware to begin with. They stock them because they make money off accessories, games, etc. 

Nintendo is making money on these things, probably a fair amount too. No way is that chipset more than $25 a pop IMO.
