In terms of Indies, Nintendo's support is best this year

This could actually be the reason why Nintendo is getting so many and good indies.

Since the big publishers where gone, Indies where much more visible there than on Xbox or Playstation, and Nintendo additionally pushed and promoted them with their Nindies programm, even ging some of them physical releases. This in turn gave Nintendo a great reputation for Indie game developers, as they where selling comparatively well on the Wii U, with quite a few selling even better there than on the other consoles despite the much smaller install base.
