To be fair, SE is mostly just enix now. There is little of squaresoft left staff wise. I mean if you want traditional jrpgs there ALWAYS is DQ which sells gangbusters in japan and sells FAR more that FF there. Making traditional FF just gets buried in japan by DQ, ehich is why the do what they do.
Now most of former square devs are either in alphadream making mario&luigi games (the true succesors to SMRPG), or in monolith soft, who makes open world real time RPGs RIGHT either way they are all under ninty now.
Its funny how FF7 was the start of all this... after cutting ties, most of traditional square devs ending up under ninty after a generation or two.
