This message will only be delivered when enough Switch owners actually buy them. Porting games of that level to a weaker system is relatively costly. So not meeting the sales target would send the wrong kind of message instead.

Yeah I do hope Switch owners put their money where their mouth is and buy third party games, because if they don't sell, then third parties will stop bringing their games to Switch.
