Highly unlikely. I didn't see anything that didn't look out of place in any Resident Evil or Silent Hill game in "IT". I've yet to see the original, but my wife tells me it's much better.

Also, highly unlikely? IT can definitely be the beginning of bigger investments in horror. Look at R-rated comedies before and after the first The Hangover. It changed the game. Even Logan might have not been R if not for Deadpool's boxoffice performance. Movies like IT change the game for their genres.
