It doesn't take that long for a boat to travel from China in this day and age. 

They have contradirary parts in article, first we have "thats easy to increase the production capacity of the factory", than "that it’s also difficult to get components because other companies like Apple (and Nintendo named Apple specifically) are competing for the same components", and at end that "Nintendo wasn’t too optimistic about meeting demand in the near future: they plan to ship 10 million units this year, but said that “in reality there are 20 million people who actually want to buy one”.

So I disagree, It sound that Nintendo increased production but that still isn't enough and that they have problems to further increase production because shortages of components, that is needed to meet demand.

Pro-Tip To Nintendo: Next time, try choosing 2-3 NAND flash vendors instead of thinking you're going to be given equal priority to fucking Apple. 

Every smartphone, tablet in the world has NAND flash and they all manage without running into such headaches.
