There are good things about Gate and bad things. I love the premise (though it's not that original) and the first part is really fun. However, after awhile it turns into an advertisement for the Japanese military and how much better the MC & Friends are than everyone else. I got tired of that and dropped it. It has this facade of being realistic but that makes the ridiculous parts stand out even more. It feels like one of those manga/anime that exists as wish fulfillment for the author. Everyone is stupid and weak except the good guys. |
So they don't seem to make use of all the extra episodes to do something new? For a double cours anime, I was hoping to not get a repetitive anime. As much flak as SAO gets, at least each cours they change scenery.
