Once again, I think you're missing what he's trying to say. It's leftover Nintendo code.

Leftover from what? Even in that case, it shows Nintendo has meddled with VR in regard to Switch. Maybe nothing's going to come out of it, but at the very least, this seems to be evidence that Nintendo is interested in VR with Switch.
