There was too much focus on the "driving around the city" complaints--and that's an incredibly minor part of the gaming.

It's an awesome title and it's fun to play. Plus, in the States, it's only $30 now at Target. I suggest all serious Wii gamers should check it out. The Wii could use the good show of hardcore support.

Also, there are two articles online deconstructing No More Heroes and showing that it is essentially one of the smartest games of this generation so far with it's subtle editorial on gaming and gamers. It makes the game THAT much better.
hey, could you point me to those articles by any chance? I would love to read them, if you don't remember exactly where they are, any clues to go on to help me find them? I catch alot of interesting references in there, but I'm sure I'm missing alot that's going on, and I would love to read a deconstruction of the game.

Ahhh, I see you found one of the deconstructions of the game. My link to the other is severed at the moment (it's linked from a site that is currently down and I don't remember where it is myself), and it made many similar points as well as several new ones. ***POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT FOLLOWING, WARNING*** For instance, Sylvia has set up the phony Assassin's Ranking contest to, essentially, make side money so that she and Henry can have additional income so that Henry can continue to do the work he loves to do, but which isn't always profitable. This is an analogy to Suda51 himself. He makes standard "popular" style games so that he has money to sink into his artsy, more personal pieces--which tend not to sell as well. For instance, right now he's working on Fatal Frame IV, which is pretty much standard horror gaming fare--especially when you consider that he's just making the fourth in a popular long-running series. After Fatal Frame IV, don't be surprised if his next title is more artsy stuff pushing boundaries like No More Heroes, Contact, or Killer7. Whether or not it's the "mysterious Project S" is yet to be seen. Sorry for the current lack of link. At least you found the other one.
