I finished it a little while ago actually, and whew, it was quite a rollercoaster ride to say the least. By the end, I wasn't really sure how to feel about most of it, especially Punpun himself. I don't even know if I could say I like him or not. He's just a character whom was quite interesting to watch grow up. Most of the characters were quite messed up. It's like warped painted picture of every day people just trying to live every day life. It was just... quite crazy. Also, I felt quite sad for Aiko by the end of it... ;_; |
Ah, sweet! Glad that you liked it. I think it's kind of amazing how almost all the characters were so awful but managed to make me like them so much.
When Aiko was reintroduced and things started to spiral down, it kind of blew me away. I was super into it before that point but they just kept going one step further than I thought they could go without making me hate everyone. Aiko was hard to really accept because you could see how bad of an influence she was on Punpun, but they were both so broken that I couldn't really dislike her for trying to hold on to something.
But yeah, I don't read a ton of manga, but Punpun is probably my number one right now. Super interested in reading more of the author's stuff.
