Very much this, at this stage having the WiiU on there makes the front page of the site look like it was abandoned in regards to keeping up with numbers, I mean it might as well list sales figures for the PS2 would be more relevant in the second half of 2017

This doesn't make sense.  Last Gen the Wii U wasn't shown until the PS4 and Xbox One appeared to have something to compare it to.  The main issue is how do you account for market share using their current method.  Its not a straight answer and we can't change years of calculating one way on someone's feeling without a practical solution.  The main problem is what do you do with Wii U?

You do what Nintendo did with the WiiU, bin it.

The % between the systems makes 0 real world impact when you are talking about consoles which launched in the period between 2012 and march of this year anyway, what honest value is there in knowing that the WiiU sold 1/6th the number of consoles which the PS4 currently has, the WiiU for the most part is a dust collecting machine who's online services are in line to start getting turned off in the coming months, it has no future and the number of consoles it sold during the last 5 years is no indication of what actually share of the 2017 Market that console has.
