Eh, I think they might of waited a year or two too late to put this on 3DS, by the time this comes out it will be potentially 2018 and while I still expect 3DS to decent and get decent support in 2018. I expect at least in the west sales to be down for software and hardware by a good bit, and at least starting to decline in Japan as the Switch becomes more available.
I don't think it will sell to its full potential unfortunately because of that, and as someone as said, it does seem strange they're putting crossovers of franchise on a Nintendo console when a mainline game has never got one. I'm pretty sure that's potentially hurting sales. If Nintendo fans were familiar with an actual Persona game they might be more inclined to buy a crossover of it.
