What made the original so good was the writing of Harold Ramis who also did mega hits like Animal House and Caddyshack, and chemistry of SNL alums Murray and Aykroyd. Ghostbusters wasn't a comedy in the same vein as movies like Animal House or Caddyshack because it didn't rely on R-rated style raunchy humor and gags to carry the film (aside from the ghost BJ scene). It was played like a horror film but with comedic elements and the juxtaposition of Bill Murray's sarcastic one liners with Ramis and Aykroyd who played the straight & serious roles as scientists made for hilarious dilague and situations.
GB 2016 on the other hand was trying to be an R-rated comedy like Feig's other workd but dressed as a PG-13 summer action flick, and ended up looking like Scooby Doo 3 with more fart jokes. If fart an queef jokes are your kind of humor, then more power to you.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
