The new Ghostbusters used soap stick and caricatures for humour. The old ones used the natural ability of the actors and wit for homour.
The original characters were far better and genuine than the new ones. Everything about the new Ghostbusters felt forced and over the top.
As a movie on its own it was very average. As a Ghostbusters film it was really bad. It's like turning mainline Halo into a cutesy colourful tps. It might be good but it won't be Halo.
