I own Disgaea and Blast Master. Blaster master seems fun, but I find the bosses early on impossible to beat. Am I missing something? Their health is insane and goes down so slowly, whereas when I get hit I lose a ton of health.

As for Disgaea, I have tried to play it multiple times and I just can't get into it. The music is weird (not in a good way) and I feel no attachment towards the characters or story. I feel like I wasted my money on some niche thing that probably is great but I can't appreciate.

Blaster Master Zero has pink power-ups that fill up a bar. Hold down the L button to select different projectiles. You can also do this in the menu where you can read up on what each shot does. If you fill the entire pink bar, you'll have access to a super powerful weapon. Each time you get hit, you lose one bit of the pink bar, so that's something to be careful about. You don't lose a ton of health as each hit you take only deducts one bit of your green life bar. Regardless, power up your weapon and ideally you are at max when you touch the checkpoint before a boss fight. Should you still lose for whatever reason, you get to try again at full power.

Disgaea is a SRPG series with a convoluted battle system and a lot of grinding. I am shocked that so many people seem to own it, because I've said it often enough that that thing isn't worth buying. You wasted money on some niche thing that is mediocre at best.

Then I may return it lol. If I return do I lose 3rd party rank on this thread? Not return but sell to something like gamestop.
