Really if Switch was a tad smaller with a higher res screen, you could say the Switch is part VR console as well without the head mount included, athough I believe the screen itself lacks a gyro sensor which would cause an issue.

Since Switch doesn't do VR, I suspect the resurgence of motion controls on Switch would have happened regardless of VR.

You're in luck; the Switch Pro Controller had a gyro and Splatoon 2 supports it. ;)
