I'm looking at officially announced sales, not VGC numbers. Like I said, in that case, Horizon had sold through (so sold to consumers) 2.6 million in its first two weeks. Doesn't really matter then that VGC's numbers didn't show 2.6 million before an extra week after that, because either VGC is undertracking the game, or digital sales are high. VGC numbers just don't cut it for proper sales discussion, and I'm not saying this to be rude.¨

EDIT: actually the latest confirmed number we have from Sony for Horizon Zero Dawn is 3.4 million, with 915k of that being digital according to Sony themselves. Some of the sources say this number is for april, but some don't specify, so I'm not sure when this is for, but either way it shows VGC numbers aren't good enough, because digital sales are so substantial.

You're aware, that NPD just put Zelda Year to Date in the US above Horizon, with Horizon including digital and Zelda not?

NPD is US only, this is worldwide sales, and those numbers are for Switch and Wii U combined. In which case I too think BOTW will win.

Either way, I'm not saying I'm sure HZD will reach 5 million before BOTW, I just don't think it'll be easy pickings (for the Switch version alone), like gentii was implying. But eh, if Gentii meant Wii U + Switch sales, then sure, but he linked to the Switch version.
