A future Switch with a 1080p screen could offer docked performance as a portable but an enhanced performance level purely for VR titles. Something that offered ps3/360 performance level but at a rock solid 72fps 1080p resolution or in reality 2 x 960x1080p. Maybe something around 1 terraflop of gpu power and 50-60,000 mips performance. I don't think Nintendo would ever offer VR any more advanced than that, it would be pretty much entry level but still very desirable and perfect for joycons. I'm sure Nintendo are monitoring developments from competitors to see when VR becomes accepted by consumers and becomes important to support. |
A Switch with a 1080p screen + Tegra X2 seems likely at some point.
That would be far better equipped to deal with VR.
