You crazy. He should start at Dragonball, then z because z feels like a natural progression towards a more intense show. Also the Bus saga had some of the most important plot details of the show (supreme Kai's, which connect strongly to super) and I really enjoy super 1-40 so far but I'm watching American version only cause I don't like super Japanese screaming high pitch goicesnfor manly characters like goko and Vegeta. As far as I'm concerned the Japanese version doesn't exist.
