It started to go downhill with 11/12 for me. 11 was an MMO so I don't usually count it as a main FF game, but it clearly inspired the very MMOesque battle system of 12 which I hated, so some credit should go to 11 for ruining what was my favourite series too. Still had enough interest to get 13 and 13-2 day one though. Every franchise makes mistakes right? But nope, while improvements over 12 they were still no where near the quality I expect of FF. And now with 15... it's further away from the FF I loved than ever before  |
Haha, FF13-2 was exactly where i stopped with my day 1 FF purchases as well. Although that was the last FF game I purchased as well. I skipped FF13-3, FF14, and FF15. Although FF7-Remake has me excited. Still, have this odd feeling that Square is going to find some way to destroy this classic, I think the majority of fans will still prefer the original, despite the fact that the characters don't have visibly connected appendages.
