I don't think its them doing bare minimum. I think that's just how they want to present their games this year. Streaming and live gameplay are things nowadays and the internet is incredibly huge. Instead of using so much money to get a stage floor and present, they've decided years ago that streaming their presentations prerecorded and with little hiccups (ie, the bluetooth interference of the motion controls for Skyward Sword) and interruptions would suffice while transitioning to providing gameplay for fans who want to know and see more of the games announced or yet announced. That's their personal preference and so far it hasn't let them down yet.

And I think it's the right approach. Going fast through the games they have in store, and focusing on gameplay later for those interested in the games. Conferences are and will always be dull. I mean, I almost felt asleep watching the MS and EA confrences. Sometimes they're as cringe-worthy as they can be xD.

I mean, isn't this partly what people want when it comes to Nintendo "getting with the times?" Live-streaming gameplay and providing insight while gameplay is shown? No restrictions (except how far the gameplay will go), no CGI, and no bull^%&*. The gameplay is there and it's up to you on whether it'll give you interest in those particular games shown or not.
