Except every model has a shadow in MH 3DS while in Shenmue as even shown as an example in some of the gifs and even some of the screens posted on previous pages a number of characters don't have them at all.

You're still never getting a huge amount of shadows drawn at once in MH though, while the ones Shenmue does draw are less pixelated.
