I think their ascendance into world domination began with the iPod and its sexy design.

Dedicated gaming is a small hobby in the grand scheme of things. 

LG, which is like what, the 3rd or 4th place cell phone maker ships like 60+ million smartphones a year, Nintendo or Sony would dream to sell that much in 3 years.
